Craig Stidham, Professional Fashion and Portrait photographer based in Texas. I was born into the fashion world in 1994 after receiving a formal education in photography. I have been published in several fashion magazines, photography magazines, and billboards all over the country. I have also authored two books “Fashion Seniors” and “Dynamic Posing Guide, Modern Techniques for digital photographers”. After teaching at the college level for more then seven years, I am now teaching workshops and reaching out to many photographers. I have an “open house” attitude: Always willing to take time for others and answer questions for those who call.
How did you get started in the business? Who helped/guided/mentored you? In college I started inturning for a fashion photographer, Gretchen Van Cleave, who beat me up and made me think. I was always in trubule for details. No mater how many details I was consuces of, I was always beat for missing something. Today I owe my mentor everything.
Special Message or advise for AD attendees? Be Creative and expirement, learn to photograph for yourself. Learn that failing and bombing personal shoots are ok. That’s how you learn. A Photograph is just a picture, an Exposure is just a techy thing but an Image with Emotion is a Photographic Art.
How many After Dark Events have you attended and what’s your favorite moment?
AD Union Station will be my first time. I am very excited to be apart of AD.
