Kevin Jairaj

My name is Kevin Jairaj and I am a Wedding and Sports photographer based in Dallas, Texas.  I started photography back in college and never really took it seriously until I actually graduated.  I was in the corporate world for a while and got fed up with it very quickly.  I saved up some money and decided to make the leap to a full time photographer shortly thereafter.
I love photographing weddings as each one is very different and allows me the opportunity to create different types of images at each one.  I love to use color in my images as well as mix in some drama with regards to lighting and posing.   I really believe that this aspect has helped distinguish my work from others.

How did you get started in the business? Who helped/guided/mentored you?
I am basically self taught as I love to read forums and internet articles as well as just try things out.  That is another reason why I LOVE AfterDark…We all get to play and come up with some really cool results that we can take back with us to use in our daily work!

Special Message or advise for AD attendees?
For those of you attending my class, we will definitely be going over how I light my subjects to create very dramatic effects.  My setups are also very quick and easy to do!  Since I photograph a lot of celebrities, you have to be quick and still be able to get great results.

How many After Dark Events have you attended and what’s your favorite moment?

This will be my 6th AD I think.(When you have as much fun as I do, they start running together.);)My favorite AD moment was probably shooting down on South Beach in Miami!  I had never been there and totally loved it!
