Susan and Neil are a husband and wife team who have been involved with photography for over twenty years. Working together, they travel and teach photo workshops and lecture within the US and internationally. Their goals are not only to capture a great image in a super location, but to also shoot with a goal of accruing images for their stock portfolios. When at home in northern California, they also photograph commercial venues. Their work has been published in various publications, from Outdoor Photography to Elle magazine; and they have presented at WPPI, PPC, B&H Photo, Santa Fe Workshops, Pacific Northwest Art School and many others.
Photography has always been a passion and focus for both of them, but two people prominently factored in designing their business model. Bryan Peterson and Bill Fortney both influenced both of them–inspiring and mentoring them in not only the craft and art of excellent photography as a career; but also were tremendously supportive in working towards photography as a full time business.
After Dark is an absolutely unique opportunity for everyone–unlike any other symposium, class, conference anywhere, anytime. The information, the inspiration, the exhilaration is limitless. Leaving After Dark, you will be filled with new ideas, practical applications that make sense, and just totally excited about the endless possibilities that you can take home with you and use.
From Neil & Susan:
“Avedon, Hurrell,Dorothea Lange, W Eugene Smith are just some of who we draw our inspiration from. If you’re thinking about coming to another After Dark Event, remember this is not a templated workshop; the whole experience changes with the personnel, the location and the energy of the moment- After Dark rebirths itself each time. If you’ve never been to After Dark Before, passion, bring it along. Come with no expectations of “been there, done that, seen that” because this adventure is so unique in its format, the avenues of knowledge to be explored and the possibilities are forever. ‘…forever seeking the light, the image, and the moment”‘ “
