Damon Tucci

Damon’s non-traditional method of blending fashion with documentation is revolutionizing the wedding industry. Today’s modern couples don’t want to spend precious hours on formal poses; they want to enjoy their day with family and friends. Damon’s unique understanding of light, allows him to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments, but in an unobtrusive manner that does not impact the wedding.

As an artist, Damon revels in breaking the rules. He firmly believes that if you don’t enjoy what you do, then you should do something else. His laid back personality is easy going and fun. Although he is a strict professional, his sense of humor is never far away, and that makes working with him more like spending time with an old friend.

How did you get started in the business? Who helped/guided/mentored you?
“We had a darkroom in our house growing up. My Dad is an attorney but he had a serious photography addiction. I was more into fishing but the chemicals must have rubbed off. Early on I was an underwater cinematographer for a friend of our family. His name was Glen LAu and he is a legend in the outdoor filmaking world. He is the reason I am what I am today. He was about 6’5″ and 300 lbs and it was an old school apprenticeship. I don’t know that young people today would have survived some of the abuse I had to endure. I did learn more about my craft from him than I ever did in college. At the end of the day I think it has to be something inside of you that make this work but those were my early personal mentors.”

From Damon:
“If you’re thinking about coming to another After Dark Event, remember they are all unique and there is always something new and exciting! If you’ve never been to After Dark Before, be flexible and go with the flow. ‘Turn your face to the sun and the shadows will always be behind you.’
