With over 18 years in the photography industry, Beth Forester is an international award-winning photographer based in her home state of West Virginia. Specializing in high school senior portraiture, Beth is known not only for her stunning images but also for her creative marketing strategies and innovative business tactics. A true “number-cruncher,” she knows how to get the client, make the sale, and keep her business profitable and thriving in any economy. Thus, she has been featured in magazines such as Rangefinder, Professional Photographer and WV Executive.
In addition to running a full-time studio, Beth develops and markets the popular software line – photoDUDS, a commercially-licensed series of DVD volumes containing graphic design products and creative business kits developed specifically for professional photographers.
Well, let’s see. I am most definitely a certified work-o-holic! Anybody that knows me will tell you that. I have a great Ass and he lives on our farm. His name is Hole and he is the most perfect per donkey one could ever wish for.
How did you get started in the business? Who helped/guided/mentored you?
Like a lot of women photography started as a hobby for me but quickly turned into a business. I started my first business at the age of 16. I have always loved the challenges and rewards of running my own business. And the fact that I get to run a business in a field that I am so passionate about just makes it even better!
How many After Dark Events have you attended and what’s your favorite moment?
6… I think. Favorite AD moment…Every moment! I love it all!

Make a list of the top three things you want to learn at After Dark. The AD experience can be mind-blowing since there are so many things going on at once. If you really know ahead of time what you need to focus on to improve your skills or business it will help to keep you on the right path.
